Focus of Health Coaching
Nutrition

Eating a balanced diet is one of the best ways to improve your mental and physical health. We’ll work together, based on your specific health needs, to incorporate healthy eating as a way of life.

Movement

The best exercise plan is the one you’ll actually do. We can work together to create a movement plan that excites you.

Stress Management and Mindfulness Practices

Finding balance in our lives can feel elusive. How do you live a full, engaged life without burning yourself out? This is why stress management is such a crucial component of wellbeing. We can work together to find what works for you to alleviate stress.

Sleep

We’re all waking up to the importance of sleep for our health. But wanting better sleep doesn’t automatically translate to getting better sleep. Working together we can explore what habits might be keeping you from a good night’s rest so you can build habits that help you drift off when your head hits the pillow.

What Can I Expect to Achieve

You’ll gain clarity on what it means for you to be healthy and what keeps you from making it happen.

You’ll have the support of a.coach to help you navigate challenges and point you back to your strengths and ability to implement the changes you long for to improve your health.

Coaching is an individual process. We all start from different places and face different challenges. Through our work together, you’ll carve your own path to greater wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Health Coaching?

A health coach supports clients in making behavior change to reach wellbeing goals. Health coaching is a holistic practice that may include support in behavior change for nutrition, exercise and movement, stress management, good sleep, and a feeling of connectedness to life.

How Long Does Coaching Take to Be Beneficial?

The time it takes varies among clients. We all begin from different starting points and with unique end goals in mind. As coaching is most successful over a sustained period of time, clients are asked to commit to an initial 3-month coaching period. After this initial period, we can continue to work together on a month-to-month basis until you feel that you are in sight of your goals.

Will You Create Weekly Goals to Hold Me Accountable?

Together, we can create goals in each session that work for you. Coaching is a collaborative process and you are more likely to achieve your goals and be able to sustain them over the long-term when you are an active participant in the process.

Will You Create a Meal Plan for Me?

As a health coach, I can support you in creating a meal plan that works in your life. I can share educational information on the types of foods that are in a balanced diet and support healthy living, as well as information on specific conditions. Research shows that when people create their own meal plans they are more likely to follow them and be more successful at reaching their goals.

Can You Prescribe Supplements?

A health coach is not a dietician or doctor. As such, I don’t diagnose, treat or prescribe. I can share with you reliable, vetted information about food, supplements and other health questions you have.

Will I Have to Keep a Food Journal

You are an active participant in coaching — I may make suggestions of tools such as a food journal, but ultimately the decision of whether to use any tool is up to you. Some clients find a food journal to be a helpful way to build awareness of their eating habits so they can make changes. Others may find it cumbersome to track their food.

How Will I Know It's Working?

Based on your needs and interest, we will create measurable goals so you can monitor your progress and feel a sense of accomplishment.
